As part of the post-clerkship curriculum, students are required to take one sub-internship. The sub-internship offerings range from internal medicine to general surgery to plastic surgery and neurosurgery. These sub-internships last four weeks. Students may opt to take additional sub-internships as space allows.

In this rotation, students act in the capacity of a first-year resident. Students are expected to see patients first, take a history, perform a physical examination, develop an initial assessment and plan, and present the patient to the resident team and attending. Students follow these patients through the course of their hospital stay.
